More devices, with limits

Google announced on 25 February that call Scam Detection would expand to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series in the United States. Its account also listed availability on Pixel devices across several countries, including India. The rollout depends on the device and region; the Samsung announcement was not a promise of worldwide support.

What stays on the device

Google said call analysis uses an on-device Gemini model and that the processed conversation is neither stored nor sent off the phone. The feature is off by default and does not apply to calls with contacts. For Messages, Google described scam detection in more than 20 countries and improved recognition of gradual fraud, including deceptive job offers. The protections provide warnings rather than a guarantee that a caller is genuine.
