A place to supervise agents

OpenAI introduced the Codex app for macOS on 2 February, providing a desktop interface for multiple project-based agent threads. Built-in Git worktrees let separate agents work on isolated copies of the same repository, while users review changes and leave feedback on diffs. The app reused session history and configuration from existing Codex tools.

Skills added reusable task instructions and tools beyond code generation, and automations supported repeated work. Launch access included a limited-time expansion to Free and Go users, alongside higher limits on paid plans. A later source update records Windows availability on 4 March. That sequence matters for an archive: the February event was a macOS launch, not proof that every platform had the same desktop application from day one.
