The business
German quantum-computing company eleQtron announced a €57 million Series A on May 5, led by Schwarz Digits. The EIC Fund, Earlybird and other investors participated; the company said the overall funding package also includes individual grants.
The University of Siegen spin-off develops trapped-ion processors controlled using microwave technology. It plans to expand production capacity, make more systems accessible through the cloud and continue hardware development. eleQtron also reported an order backlog above €54 million. That figure represents signed business awaiting delivery, rather than cash already received or recognised revenue. The combination of a production programme and contracted demand gives readers a more useful measure of its commercial direction than the round size alone, while delivery remains the work ahead.
