Two routes open on the same day

Google expanded access to Gemini 4 Argon on 13 October, giving paying developers and subscribers new ways to use the model. Its developer announcement says applications can use the paid tier of the Gemini API through AI Studio and Android Studio. Google AI Ultra subscribers can also try Argon in AI Studio and Antigravity.

Google describes the model as designed for complex work such as code migrations, research and enterprise tasks. Those are the company's capability claims; the access change gives developers a concrete route to evaluate it within their own applications.

Chat and tasks share an interface

A separate Gemini app announcement makes Argon available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It introduces a switch between chat and tasks, with task execution continuing when the user is away from the computer. The Gemini macOS app also gains Antigravity's coding interface.

Google lists connections to services including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify, alongside its own apps. Connecting a service and authorising an action are consequential decisions when an assistant can work across accounts. The announcement does not establish that every connector, action or subscription feature is available in every country. For readers choosing between the app and API, the distinction is practical: a consumer subscription supplies an assistant experience, while an API integration needs its own product behaviour and operating budget.
