A bank-distribution route

Lloyds and Stripe announced Lloyds Accept on 9 June, a set of payment tools integrated into the Lloyds Business Account. The offering covers in-person terminals, Tap to Pay and payment links. Stripe supplies the underlying payments infrastructure while Lloyds provides the banking relationship and distribution.

One customer, several sales channels

The proposition is practical for a small business that sells at a counter and takes remote orders: it can use different acceptance methods within the same banking relationship. The release says customers can set up quickly, but does not provide an independent onboarding-time study or a full fee comparison. Lloyds reported serving more than one million business customers; that is the potential banking audience, not the number already enrolled in the new service.
