Tasks beyond the laptop session
Mistral introduced Medium 3.5 on 22 May with cloud-based Vibe agents that could continue coding while the user stepped away. The 128B dense model has a 256K context window, configurable reasoning effort and open weights under a modified MIT licence. Announced API prices were $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens.
A 28 May follow-up brought Le Chat’s work and coding experiences under Vibe, adding a VS Code extension and dedicated Work and Code modes. Existing plans and conversations carried over. The sequence matters: remote execution and the unified interface were related but distinct steps. An agent running away from the laptop still works within a runtime, connected repositories and permissions; it does not make review of the resulting changes unnecessary.
