A configurable terminal agent

Mistral released Vibe 2.0 on 27 January, adding custom subagents, multiple-choice clarifications, slash-command skills and configurable agent modes. The terminal-native tool uses the Devstral 2 model family and supports work across multiple files. Automatic updates were part of the revised workflow.

Vibe became available through Le Chat Pro and Team plans, with extra pay-as-you-go usage or a user-supplied API key. Devstral 2 moved to paid API access, while an Experiment plan retained free testing access. That packaging means a subscription and unlimited model consumption are different propositions. The custom-mode controls also give teams a place to define tool access and behaviour, rather than assuming every coding request should run with the same permissions.
