Images into video workflows
Google made Gemini Omni Flash available to developers through AI Studio and the Gemini API on 30 June, alongside Nano Banana 2 Lite for image generation. Omni Flash supports video generation and conversational editing from multimodal inputs, priced in the announcement at $0.10 per second of output. Nano Banana 2 Lite was listed at $0.034 per 1K image.
The preview had concrete limits: ten-second video generations, no audio-reference upload or scene extension, and a warning that accepted video references were not yet processed correctly. Google recommended the Lite image model for rapid drafting and high-volume pipelines. Developers therefore received more accessible building blocks, but still needed to design around the preview’s unsupported inputs and duration ceiling.
