Beyond hyperspectral satellites
Pixxel closed a $100 million Series C on 7 September, co-led by Temasek and Seraphim. The Bengaluru- and Los Angeles-based company said the round brings its total funding to $195 million. It plans to add synthetic-aperture radar and higher-resolution optical imaging to its hyperspectral satellite work, develop its Aurora Earth-intelligence software, and expand satellite production in India and the United States.
A broader space business
Pixxel says it has deployed six Firefly satellites and already launched Aurora. Its future plans include a next-generation Honeybee constellation, with the first satellite expected in 2027, and sovereign Earth-observation systems for government missions. The announcement also cites existing contracts and a selected role in India’s public-private Earth-observation programme. The funding supports expansion across sensors, analytics and spacecraft; it does not mean the planned constellation or factory capacity is already in service.
