The business
Reactor emerged from stealth on May 28 with $59 million in funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. WndrCo, Amplify Partners, Sky9 Capital and FPV Ventures participated. The company was founded by Alberto Taiuti and Bryce Schmidtchen, former technical leads on Apple Vision Pro.
Its business is the infrastructure between model developers and application builders. Reactor supplies an SDK and API for interactive video applications, aiming to handle the work of deploying and running real-time models. It named world-model developer Overworld as a user of that infrastructure. Potential customers include media, entertainment and robotics companies. The announcement describes a platform for applications that respond to user interaction during generation, rather than a conventional service that renders a finished video after a prompt.
