Revolut receives approval to
Revolut announced central-bank approval on 24 September for its planned acquisition of Banco Cetelem Argentina from BNP Paribas Personal Finance. The approval permits it to move toward completion. After closing, it plans to rename the entity Revolut Bank Argentina.
The company explicitly says the bank will not initially offer public-facing products or services. Its first phase concerns regulatory and operational requirements, local infrastructure and preparation for a later launch. Revolut reported more than 150,000 people on its Argentina waitlist, which is an expression of interest rather than a count of open bank accounts. The announcement is therefore an acquisition-approval milestone, with both transaction completion and customer availability requiring separate attention.
