Revolut reports 500,000 account

Revolut reported on 8 June that its Mexican bank had passed 500,000 users. Its full operational launch took place on 27 January, making the milestone less than six months after opening. The company says it established the operation through a new local banking licence rather than acquiring an existing bank.

Revolut also reported a $64 million capital injection during May, taking its total investment in Mexico to $167 million. The figures provide an early indication of account adoption and capital committed to the operation. They do not disclose how many users are active, average balances or the local bank’s profitability. The company presents Mexico as a model for future international launches, which remain separate projects.
