The geographic exception
Apple said on 8 June that Siri AI would not launch in the European Union with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. The company attributed the delay to disagreements with EU regulators over Digital Markets Act interoperability requirements. It did not give a date for bringing those mobile features to the region.
The statement distinguished platforms: macOS 27 and visionOS 27 were still intended to receive Siri AI in the EU. Watch access would also be affected because it relies on a paired iPhone with the feature. Apple’s description presents its own account of the regulatory dispute, not a neutral legal finding. For users and app developers, the immediate planning issue was that an operating-system version number would not imply identical Siri capabilities in every region.
