An acquisition on 2 February
SpaceX completed its acquisition of X.AI Holdings on 2 February, making xAI a wholly owned subsidiary, according to the company’s quarterly filing. SpaceX says the transaction was effected through a share exchange. The acquired group already included X Holdings and X.AI Corp following xAI’s own March 2025 combination. The ownership change therefore brings the social platform and AI business into the same group as SpaceX’s launch and connectivity operations. SpaceX quarterly filing.
Three businesses under one roof
In its filing for the quarter ending 30 June, SpaceX describes three operating segments: Space, Connectivity and AI. The AI segment spans Grok, consumer and enterprise AI services, X and computing infrastructure, while Connectivity includes the Starlink network. The filing defines the combined business. The filing records the February completion date retrospectively; it does not imply those quarterly disclosures were published on the day of the transaction. It also does not establish that every product has been merged into a single customer service. SpaceX quarterly filing.
