Credit moves closer to platforms
Stripe announced on 30 September that it had agreed to acquire Parafin, an embedded financial products company serving platforms including DoorDash, Gusto, Jobber and Mindbody. Parafin provides credit products to the small businesses using those platforms. Stripe said the combination would expand the credit products it can offer through its own platform network. A proposed transaction
According to Stripe, Parafin had helped more than 60,000 businesses access capital since 2020. Its products include a core capital offering, Pay Over Time and Spend, providing different ways to manage business cash flow. These figures and descriptions come from the buyer’s announcement. Stripe expected the deal to close in the following months, subject to customary conditions and any required regulatory clearances. The release therefore records an agreement, with completion still dependent on those steps. It does not disclose a purchase price or establish that an existing Parafin customer must immediately change providers, contracts or the way it applies for credit. Stripe Parafin announcement.
