Funding for world models
World Labs announced $1 billion in new funding on 18 February. Named investors include AMD, Autodesk, Emerson Collective, Fidelity, NVIDIA and Sea. The company says the money supports work on spatial intelligence: models and tools concerned with three-dimensional environments rather than text alone.
What exists to evaluate
The announcement points to Marble, its product for creating persistent 3D worlds from images, video or text. It also names robotics, scientific discovery and creative production as areas the company wants to address. Those are intended applications, not a list of demonstrated commercial deployments. The short funding statement gives no valuation, ownership breakdown or timetable for those broader uses. The concrete news is the financing and the product the company identifies as its first release.
