Capital for compute
xAI said it completed a $20 billion Series E on 6 January, with investors including Valor, Fidelity, Qatar Investment Authority and MGX. NVIDIA and Cisco Investments participated as strategic investors. The money is intended to expand computing infrastructure, fund research and support new consumer and enterprise products.
What the announcement establishes
The company reported more than one million H100 GPU equivalents across its Colossus facilities at the end of 2025. That is xAI’s infrastructure measure, rather than an independently verified capacity audit. Its reference to roughly 600 million monthly users combines X and Grok; it is not a count of paying AI customers. The release confirms a completed financing but gives no valuation for the round.
