The development

Circle signed a definitive agreement to acquire Singapore-based payments infrastructure company Tazapay, announcing the transaction on September 8. Closing is expected in 2027 and remains subject to regulatory approvals, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and other conditions.

Tazapay supplies cross-border payment infrastructure for payment service providers and financial institutions. Circle says the business brings more than 60 banking and fintech partners and local payout coverage across over 100 markets. It had already worked with Circle Payments Network as a design partner. The proposed acquisition would connect Circle’s stablecoin settlement infrastructure with more of the banking and local-payment steps at either end of a transaction. Circle said Tazapay customers should expect no disruption to service, APIs, pricing or support.
