Earnings in a different form
Stripe announced on 3 June that Deel was launching a stablecoin wallet for contractors, initially available in Argentina. The product lets users hold a US dollar-denominated DLUSD balance, with other Latin American markets planned to follow and further regional expansion later. That launch geography is narrower than the announcement’s description of Deel’s global contractor network. Stripe Deel announcement.
The payment path
The companies describe a sequence beginning with employer payments collected through Stripe. Bridge converts dollars into DLUSD, issued using its Open Issuance service, and an embedded Privy wallet holds the contractor’s balance. Transactions use the Tempo network. The announcement also describes a Deel Card for spending and eligibility to earn rewards on balances. It presents settlement speed and cost advantages as vendor claims. The concrete change is a new way for eligible contractors to hold and use their earnings inside Deel. A global expansion plan does not establish that the wallet or card is immediately available to every worker in every country. Stripe Deel announcement.
