Three tracks for protocol work
Ethereum Foundation protocol leads set out a revised organisation of their work on 18 February: Scale, Improve UX and Harden the L1. The new security track groups efforts on post-quantum readiness, censorship resistance and network testing. Scaling combines execution capacity and data availability work. Ethereum priorities update.
Wallets and resilience
The usability track prioritises native account abstraction and interoperability. Its goal is to put more smart-account logic into the protocol and make movement between layer-two networks easier. The hardening track adds research on transaction safeguards and measurable censorship resistance, alongside tests needed for network upgrades. These are engineering priorities rather than completed protections. The February update named Glamsterdam as the next major upgrade and described other work still moving from research towards production. Developers can use the post to see where the foundation is directing effort, but the stated roadmap does not by itself establish deployment dates, guarantee lower fees or confirm that proposed features have reached mainnet.
