Samsung Wallet plans USDC
Solana Foundation announced on 7 October that Samsung Wallet would support cross-border USDC transfers on Solana beginning in the last week of October. The feature is intended to sit inside the existing wallet experience, with fiat on- and off-ramps handling local-currency conversion.
The release describes an addressable base of 82 million US Galaxy devices, not 82 million people already making stablecoin payments. Additional markets depend on local regulatory requirements. As of the 15 October research cutoff, the stated launch window was still ahead. The development is distribution through a familiar consumer wallet, with the actual fees, supported routes and user availability determined by implementation rather than the size of the device base.
