Read the ownership terms
Apple launched Apple Upgrade in the United States on 28 July, offering Klarna-provided leases for iPhone, Watch, Mac and iPad. The programme uses twelve- or twenty-four-month terms for phones and watches, and twenty-four- or thirty-six-month terms for Macs and iPads. Entry prices varied by device and configuration.
At the end of a lease, customers can return the product, upgrade or make a separate purchase payment. That structure differs from assuming that monthly payments automatically buy the hardware outright. Apple said the launch would replace its US iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Payments options for new arrangements. Eligibility, approval and return conditions remain part of the offer; the headline monthly rate alone does not describe the entire transaction.
