DJI adds AP100 parachute system for Matrice 400

The accessory is designed to reduce descent speed in specified emergency scenarios.

What changed

DJI announced the AP100 parachute system for its Matrice 400 enterprise drone on 8 July. The add-on is intended to deploy in specified emergency conditions and reduce descent speed, adding a recovery measure for operations over people or infrastructure. It is a system accessory rather than a change to the aircraft’s core flight performance.

Operators should review the product’s compatibility, deployment conditions and maintenance instructions. A parachute does not remove the need for safe operating procedures or local aviation approvals, and DJI’s release is not an independent certification of risk reduction.
