DJI adds detachable framing remote to Osmo Mobile 8P

The smartphone gimbal also supports ActiveTrack 8.0 and Apple DockKit on compatible iPhones.

What changed

DJI introduced the Osmo Mobile 8P globally on 7 May with a detachable Osmo FrameTap remote. The remote lets a creator trigger and adjust framing while recording themselves, while DJI’s ActiveTrack 8.0 is designed to keep a selected subject in frame. Compatible iPhones can use Apple DockKit for native tracking.

The accessory combines a phone gimbal with a control workflow aimed at solo shooting. Tracking and framing behavior depend on the phone, app and filming conditions; DJI’s release describes intended capabilities rather than independent accuracy testing.
