Do not mix the rollout dates

Nvidia announced DLSS 4.5 on 5 January, introducing a second-generation transformer for Super Resolution and plans for Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. The updated Super Resolution model was available to try through the Nvidia app on GeForce RTX GPUs. The 6X frame-generation mode was scheduled for the spring and aimed at RTX 50-series hardware.

The 6X mode can insert up to five generated frames for each traditionally rendered frame. That increases displayed frame counts, which should be distinguished from rendering every frame through the game engine. Nvidia also highlighted new G-Sync Pulsar monitors and broader game support. For an existing RTX owner, the immediate question was which part of DLSS applied to that card, rather than assuming the entire 4.5 feature set shared one hardware requirement.
