Privacy moves into the display
Samsung’s global announcement dated 26 February introduced Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Its release highlights a built-in Privacy Display on the Ultra, controlling how the screen distributes light to limit viewing from the side when activated.
Users can enable it for selected apps or when entering credentials, and apply partial protection to notification pop-ups. Samsung’s footnote cautions that some information can remain visible depending on angle and brightness. The feature does not make everything on a lit screen invisible to others.
A regional specification caveat
The series also added AI-assisted call screening and alerts for certain sensitive-data access attempts. Samsung lists Snapdragon and Exynos processors for the smaller models, with the selection varying by device and market. AI availability also varies by language and region. The launch offers a hardware privacy feature alongside software automation; buyers still need to examine the specifications and feature access of their local model. Screen privacy remains dependent on viewing conditions.
