The range gains another size

Samsung unveiled Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8 on 22 July. Its global release introduced an Ultra model to the foldable lineup and redesigned the standard Fold8 around a different display shape.

Samsung specifies the Fold8 at 201 grams with a 4,800mAh battery. Fold8 Ultra has an eight-inch main display, a 5,000mAh battery and a listed weight of 215 grams. The two book-style devices therefore offer different trade-offs in display area, weight and battery capacity.

Availability and features vary

Preorders began that day in selected markets. Samsung described AI tools tailored to the display formats and partner experiences involving Gemini Intelligence. The release attaches conditions to AI access and says regional specifications can vary. The additional model creates a more specific choice within Samsung’s foldable range; the announcement’s productivity and durability descriptions remain vendor claims until assessed against an individual buyer’s tasks and conditions. The listed weights can also change with the regional device configuration.
