What changed

Google’s Home Speaker, announced on 17 June, is its first audio device built for the Gemini for Home voice assistant. It went up for pre-order ahead of a June 25 launch at $99.99. Google says the speaker supports more conversational requests and immersive audio, and can work with compatible Nest cameras through features such as Camera History Search.

Some assistant features require a Google Home Premium subscription and rollout is staged by region. The announcement describes the product’s intended capabilities; users should check country and subscription requirements before buying.
