Two practical additions
Apple announced iPhone 17e on 2 March with an A19 chip, its C1X cellular modem and MagSafe support. The launch release set the base storage at 256GB for a $599 starting price in the United States, twice the entry storage of the previous generation.
MagSafe brings compatibility with magnetic chargers and accessories. The phone keeps a 6.1-inch display and a 48-megapixel Fusion camera, with Apple describing its cropped two-times view as optical-quality zoom.
India joined the initial schedule
Apple included India among countries able to preorder on 4 March, with availability from 11 March. The US dollar price does not establish the Indian retail price. The announcement’s satellite and AI features also carry regional availability conditions. The meaningful upgrade is the combination of more starting storage and an accessory connection previously missing from the cheaper model, rather than a guarantee that every software feature works in every market. Regional service conditions deserve the same attention as storage specifications.
