A new entry point

Apple introduced MacBook Neo on 4 March, a laptop powered by A18 Pro and priced from $599 in the United States. The announcement lists a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, an aluminium enclosure, macOS Tahoe and support for Apple Intelligence.

Preorders opened that day, with availability scheduled for 11 March. The US education price began at $499. Apple offered the laptop in blush, indigo, silver and citrus, making the new model visually distinct from the existing notebook range.

Price is the clear change

Apple positions Neo for everyday browsing, document work, streaming and creative activities. It also reports battery and performance results from its own testing. Those claims should not be treated as measurements of a user’s workload. The verified change is a lower-priced Mac notebook using A-series silicon, giving families, students and organisations another configuration to compare against their software requirements, peripheral needs and the full cost of a device. The quoted prices describe the US launch, not local taxes or retail offers.
