A wider device portfolio
Google announced its new Pixel range on 12 August, spanning Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The portfolio announcement also introduced Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel Tag, Google’s first finder tag using the Find Hub network.
Pixel Tag includes a speaker that can be triggered to help locate an item. The separate accessory extends the portfolio beyond phones and watches, with locating dependent on the network and supported product experience.
The phone’s platform changes
Google’s phone announcement specifies Tensor G6 and the latest Gemini Nano model for Pixel 11, Pro and Pro XL. All three begin with 256GB of storage and come with seven years of operating-system, security and Pixel Drop updates.
The Pro models add HiLight, coloured LEDs around the camera flash for signals such as calls and the assistant’s status. Google also describes a Titan M3 security chip and post-quantum protection for secure boot. Its claimed performance and imaging gains are company results.
Gemini Intelligence availability varies by country and language, is limited to adults and can carry subscription limits. The hardware announcement establishes the new devices and support commitment, while access to individual AI features requires a separate check. US launch prices are also not an Indian price list. A support promise concerns future software delivery, while the usefulness of an individual update depends on the device and the features Google chooses to release.
Google listed US launch starting prices of $899 for Pixel 11, $1,099 for Pixel 11 Pro and $1,299 for Pixel 11 Pro XL. These are the US figures from its announcement, not Indian prices.
