A first-party tracker
Google introduced Pixel Tag on 12 August as its first item finder, built to work with the Find Hub network. The company says the stainless-steel tracker is IP67 rated, has a speaker and runs for up to a year on its battery. Google listed it at $29, with a four-pack priced at $99, and scheduled retail availability for 11 November.
Pixel Tag expands Google’s own hardware into a category already served by third-party Find Hub-compatible trackers. Location depends on nearby participating Android devices and the network’s privacy protections; it is not a live GPS beacon. Google says a user can share a tracked item with trusted contacts.
