Google announced Pixel Watch 5 on 12 August, with preorders that day and availability planned for 20 August. Starting prices were $399 for 41mm and $429 for 45mm. The watch adds contextual At a Glance updates and Gemini assistance, alongside revised fitness tracking.

Google also introduced Health Guardian tools, including breathing-emergency detection and longer-term health trends. These features carry device, region and eligibility conditions; the announcement should not be read as proof that all buyers receive every health capability on day one. Google’s GPS accuracy comparisons are based on its own study of preproduction devices. The product combines a new service layer with familiar wrist hardware, making supported features as relevant as the case size when comparing versions.
