Samsung SmartTag3 adds movement and place alerts

Samsung says the tracker is smaller and lighter, with staged market availability from October.

More than a last-known location

Samsung announced Galaxy SmartTag3 on 30 September, adding Place Notification, Location History and Movement Detection Alert to its item tracker. Place Notification lets users define an area and receive an alert when the tag enters or leaves it. Location History provides a record of where the tag has been, according to Samsung.

The company says SmartTag3 is 35% smaller by volume and 33% lighter than its predecessor, retains IP67 resistance and uses the Galaxy Find network. It first went on sale in Korea on 7 October, with US availability to follow and more markets planned for 2027. Feature availability varies by phone and region; some finding features are unavailable on iOS.
