Two display tiers
Apple introduced a new Studio Display family on 3 March, with the XDR model adding a mini-LED backlight to a 27-inch 5K panel. Apple specifies more than 2,000 dimming zones, peak HDR brightness of 2,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. Those features distinguish it from the regular Studio Display, whose panel remains a 600-nit 5K display.
Both models receive Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View. US starting prices were $1,599 for Studio Display with a tilt-adjustable stand and $3,299 for XDR with tilt and height adjustment. Apple scheduled orders for 4 March and availability for 11 March. Glass and stand choices still affect the final configuration and price.
