A larger bet on securing AI infrastructure

Cloud security company Upwind has raised $400 million in a Series C funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, it announced on October 28. The company said the investment brings its total funding to more than $800 million, less than nine months after its $250 million Series B. Upwind plans to put the money toward product and engineering as it expands its cloud and AI security platform. In its announcement, the company said it is building sensors for endpoints and scanners for AI agents and skills, alongside changes to its inventory graph. Existing backers including Greylock, Cyberstarts and Salesforce Ventures participated, and Canapi Ventures joined the round, according to Upwind. The financing reflects demand for tools that help security teams understand risks across cloud systems as businesses add AI applications and agents. Upwind’s product and growth claims are the company’s own; the announcement does not independently establish how its tools perform against alternatives.
